		<description>Very thought-provoking article.  I'd like to add a few of my thoughts.

For instance, about the beauty issue - it really depends on how you define beauty.  Someone may be in a situation where they are unable to keep up physical appearances but they may still have a strong sense of their inner beauty.

It is also said that if you repeat a lie to yourself often enough that you will end up believing it so heed the words you say to yourself.  However, the words that we express internally or externally result from our feelings and emotions which lead to our thoughts which lead to our actions.

So yes, if you repeatedly say something to yourself you will start to behave in such a manner as to make what you say a reality.

Finally, some things may seem superficial and self-serving on the surface, e.g. saying "I am wonderful".  However, these types of positive affirmations can help to enhance our self-esteem and self-confidence which, in turn, results in us providing more value when we show up in the world.
