If luck is what IT is called, then I suppose I am lucky. I like this song, introduced to me by my daughter, because the longer that I have been married the more I realized how lucky I am to be in-love with my best friend.
Passion is fine, great sexual attraction is a plus; but in the long run, it is the person that you can run to with a problem, the person that you can laugh with, cry with and get angry with… your best friend is what will sustain your love. So I guess I am lucky because I have been in love with my best friend for 18 years; and it has been for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in happiness and in sad times. We’ve come through scathed and battle worn but all the better for it. We are stronger than we were at the beginning but definitely nowhere near where this life journey’s end. Maybe we will remain lucky and be in love for the rest of our lives. Only fate will tell…
